ABOUT
The Centro Para la Accion Legal en Derechos Humanos (CALDH, Centre for Human Rights Legal Action) began in the 1980s as an unofficial association united to fight for basic human rights to help establish peace during Guatemala’s 36-year civil war. Following the Peace Accords of 1996, CALDH was recognised as an official institution that promotes and defends human rights, while consciously recognising the historical memory of Guatemala’s civil war in its pursuit of basic freedoms.
CALDH aims to further a full national and international understanding of Guatemala’s, to ensure that this history will not be repeated. CALDH trains partner organisations and groups in order to allow them to speak out against impunity and injustices in Guatemala.
CALDH implements this work through four programmes:

While all programmes work to establish peace through the promotion of human rights, DEJURE is CALDH’s initiative that focuses most directly on establishing peace. DEJURE contributes to establishing truth and justice at the national and international level through supporting victims of human rights violations during the conflict. This includes financial reimbursement for victims of human rights violations, promoting full political, social, and judicial understanding of human rights violations committed, and researching and explaining how they relate to the present and current construction of a culture of peace and understanding.
SOBRE
El Centro Para la acción Legal en Derechos Humanos (CALDH; 'Centro de Acción Legal de derechos humanos', en inglés) comenzó en la década de 1980 como una asociación no oficial se unieron para luchar por los derechos humanos básicos ayudar a establecer la paz en de Guatemala 36 años de guerra civil. A raíz de los acuerdos de paz en 1996, CALDH fue reconocida como una institución oficial que promueve y defiende los derechos humanos, sin dejar de reconocer conscientemente la memoria histórica de la Guerra Civil de Guatemala en su búsqueda de los derechos humanos.
CALDH apunta a promover la plena comprensión de la Guerra Civil de Guatemala, a nivel nacional e internacional, para asegurar que esta historia no se repetirá. CALDH entrena a grupos y organizaciones asociadas con el fin de permitirles actuar contra la impunidad y la injusticia en Guatemala.
CALDH implementa este trabajo a través de cuatro programas:

Mientras que todos los programas trabajan para establecer la paz mediante la promoción de los derechos humanos, jure es iniciativa de CALDH se centra directamente en establecer la paz. JURE contribuye a establecer la verdad y la justicia a nivel nacional e internacional a través de apoyo a las víctimas de violaciones de derechos humanos durante la Guerra Civil de Guatemala. Esto se manifiesta como reembolso financiero para las víctimas de violaciones de derechos humanos, promover la comprensión completa política, social y judicial de los derechos humanos las violaciones cometidas y cómo se relacionan con la construcción de una cultura de paz y entendimiento presente y actual.
