Indian Civil Watch International (ICWI) is a non-sectarian, diasporic, membership-based organization representing the diversity of India’s people. We bring together a transnational network to build and advance democracy in India.
ICWI seeks to uphold the democratic rights of all peoples in India and Indian communities based in North America. We investigate and document violations of these constitutional rights and analyze how democratic and constitutional rights are impacted by national and international policies. ICWI also organizes collective resistance to issues such as gender inequality, caste oppression, religious persecution, majoritarian violence, economic inequality, and state repression.
We address violations against all targeted minorities and aim to create and consolidate institutions allowing for dissent in India.
