Tom Hanson is the special guest speaker:

  • Former U.S. Foreign Service Officer;

  • Diplomat in Residence, Alworth Institute for International Affairs, University of MN – Duluth; and

  • Chair, MN Committee on Foreign Relations.

He will discuss forces driving this surge, including economic insecurity, immigration, nationalism, distrust in political institutions, and growing normalization of extremist rhetoric.
