This year marks 30 years since the founding of the International Crisis Group. Established in 1995 in direct response to the horrors of the Bosnian war, a time when the world’s failure to act made clear that something had to change.
Today, our mission remains the same, to serve not only as the world’s eyes and ears on the ground in countries in conflict, but also to press all relevant actors to take action.
On the International Day of Peace, Crisis Group's President and CEO Comfort Ero reflects on the past three decades of an organisation focused on conflict prevention and resolution, and the lessons learned along the way.
